HOLIDAY FIRE

The Santa Barbara County Fire Department is on the scene of a fast-moving wildfire in Goleta. At this time, evacuations have been ordered for the areas North of Cathedral Oaks to West Camino Cielo Road, and from La Patera Lane west to North Patterson Avenue. If you are in this area, leave now. An evacuation center has been set up at the Goleta Valley Community Center (5679 Hollister Avenue, Goleta CA 93117). If evacuating, take your pets with you. Large animals can be taken to Earl Warren Showgrounds. Small animals can be taken to the SB County Animal Shelter (5473 Overpass Road, Goleta, CA 93117). For more information, tune to local media. Please do not call 911 unless you have an emergency. Instead, call 211 or outside the 805 area code, call toll free (800) 400-1572.

During an emergency when the power is out and when critical and timely information must get out to the general public, the County Office of Emergency Management will utilize satellite equipment to regularly communicate with designated County radio stations that have generators and can continue to broadcast.
